That depends on how widespread the problem is. A local joint leak, bracket issue or blockage can often be repaired. If the run is sagging, misaligned or deteriorated across several sections, replacement usually gives a better and more reliable result than repeated small fixes.
Can bad gutters really cause damp inside?
Yes. Overflowing or leaking gutters can soak the walls, roof edge and even parts of the loft area over time. That can lead to staining, damp patches and deterioration that looks like a roof leak when the real problem is poor rainwater control along the edge.
Do you inspect the wider roof if we have recurring overflow?
